The Empire Bluff Trail is just south of Empire, Michigan in Leelanau County. It’s a fairly short hike from the parking area but rewards you with a spectacular view of the Lake Michigan coastline. To the south is Platte Bay point jutting into the lake and to the north is Sleeping Bear Dunes and South Manitou Island. A large portion of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore park is represented here with the Village of Empire being concealed by the treeline on the right. This is a 19 shot stitched panorama. My Nikon D800E is mounted vertically, Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 lens @ 24mm, 1/160 sec, ISO400, tripod mounted with a Really Right Stuff gimbal pano setup.
