I went up to Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore and hiked up to Sleeping Bear Point for the late afternoon golden hour and the full moon rise on this perfect July day. This ended up being one of the more productive shooting sessions I've had. The clouds were soft and fluffy and a nice counterpoint to the dunegrass and the small blowout in the sand. It was cloudier to the south with a rain squall moving in but my location had ideal conditions. I was there to capture the moonrise over glen haven to the east and the colorful sunset to the west over Lake Michigan. This is the full 360 degree panoramic composition. On the left is the sun beginning to set and panning right are the Manitou Islands in the center is the moon rising over Glen Haven. Next is the rain squall moving into Benzie County finishing with the sun again on the far right.
