I had rented an airplane to shoot a few aerial photos and made this exposure as we flew up the Lake Michigan coastline from Manistee. This is the Baldy dune face just to the north of the popular roadside turnout on the southern border of Benzie County. This overlook is a pleasant half hour hike from the trailhead on M-22 and is a very steep dune. I discourage people going down the dune face to the lake because it’s damaging to the foliage and is a heck of a climb back up which causes even more damage.
