This is the Giclèe fine art print that’s available of the composition the my wife Ann and I created in 2015 to win the Grand Prized Public Vote award at the ArtPrize® competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. ArtPrize® is the world’s largest public vote art competition in the world and open to any artist anywhere who can create anything (visit ArtPrize.org). It offers a large grand prize award of $200,000 cash which attracts almost 2000 artist annually.

The concept of Northwood Awakening was to physically morph a photograph of mine into an actual quilted textile from my wife Ann. The process was designed to encourage the viewer, after discovering the two different mediums, to study where the photograph and textile blend and change from one to the other. It question where does what we think of as a medium of realism (photography)end and the completely interpretative medium of the textile begin. The original piece measures 25 feet wide and 5 feet tall.

This print is available ONLY as a canvas giclèe or printed on Epson Sommerset Velvet Fine Art. No luster print will be created. This can be print up the full size of the original.
