Each winter I search for Ice Balls. These are a phenomenon where chunks of ice roll around in the water and the exposed area quickly freezes, then rolls and another area freezes and make fairly round balls of ice. The conditions have to be just right in order for them to form. I found these at Aral Beach at the end of Esch Road in Benzie County and part of the Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore.
