It was the summer solstice and just before midnight on a beautiful crystal clear night at Point Betsie Lighthouse in Benzie County. I was looking west out to Lake Michigan and positioned just to the south of the lighthouse but decided not to include it in the composition. The tops of the trees are lit selectively by the sweep of the lamp in the lighthouse as it revolves. I used my phone to add a small amount of fill light for the foreground. The yellow orange on the horizon is not residual sunset but light pollution from Wisconsin from across the lake!
