Star trail photography involves taking multiple exposure with your tripod mounted camera over a hour or two and blending them so the light from the stars appears to streak across the sky. This is the same night as CL176 Aurora Over Crystal Lake #2 with the star trail composite over laid. It was a beautiful night of stars and aurora.
